We've got some very important news to share.

Our guitarist, one of the founding members of Ey Up Maiden, Eibhlín O'Dwyer will be moving on from Ey Up Maiden at the start of August. She has two more shows with the group - This coming Saturday in Leeds and the Yorkshire Day special we're doing in Bradford.

We're throwing out the usual setlist for these two shows and will be playing a setlist that Evie has chosen in order to give her the most suitable and fitting send-off!

We're incredibly sad to see her go, but she goes with all of our love and our blessing. We've had an incredible 8 years together (you get less for murder) and we love her and will miss her. We worked together on this announcement and she wanted to say a few words to all the fans who she loves very dearly.

"What a ride the last 8 years have been. From our first Leeds After Death show, to playing on massive festival stages and at the Cart and Horses in London… a fair few of my bucket list stages have been ticked off! In many ways I am still the same 12-year-old, picking up a guitar for the first time in order to learn Flight of Icarus.

Every single Ey Up Maiden show has been like a high-five back through time to my teenaged self.

I guess one thing that has changed is my gender; coming out as transgender and transitioning in a relatively public way was a really terrifying prospect. But the welcome and acceptance I have experienced from our audiences are a true testament to the heavy metal community's culture of acceptance and unity.

I'm not fully sure what my next project looks like, but I know that it will wholly embody that spirit of bringing together outsiders, celebrating our differences, and championing what unites us. I'll see you all again soon. Until then (and beyond) Ey Up the Irons!"

- Eibhlín

We'll see you again Evie. Somewhere in time. This is Evie's goodbye post - we'll be announcing a new guitarist who'll be joining the band when Evie steps down in a later post, but please for now share your love and your kind messages and your memories on our social pages.
